The sequel has attracted attention because Emraan Hashmi returns to a character that audiences have associated with heartbreak, redemption and unforgettable music. Its OTT arrival also gives viewers who missed the theatrical release another opportunity to experience Shivam Pandit’s story.

Awarapan 2 Full Cast and Crew

The film features a combination of familiar Bollywood names and actors who bring new characters into the story.

• Emraan Hashmi: Returns as Shivam Pandit, the central character whose life revolves around crime, emotional conflict and redemption.
• Disha Patani: Plays Zara, a key character in the film’s dramatic narrative.
• Shabana Azmi: Appears as Nafisa, adding depth to the ensemble.
• Shriya Saran: Plays Aliyah, a character connected to the story’s emotional stakes.
• Suvinder Vicky: Plays Jaideep.
• Puran Gabbi: Appears as Zorawar.
• Vijayant Kohli: Plays Mehmood.
• Aniruddh Rawal: Appears as Sikandar.

Nitin Kakkar directs the sequel, while Vishesh Bhatt is among the film’s producers. The creative team aims to continue the world established by the original movie while presenting a new chapter in Shivam’s journey.

Awarapan 2 Plot: What Is the Film About?

Awarapan 2 follows Shivam Pandit as he is drawn back into the dangerous world he once tried to escape. Haunted by his past and struggling with his own emotional conflicts, he faces situations that test his courage, loyalty and willingness to sacrifice himself for others.

The storyline centres on a rescue mission involving Aliyah, the orphan girl Shivam left behind. When she is trafficked to Bangkok alongside other children, Shivam must confront dangerous criminals and navigate a violent underworld to save her.

The film blends action, romance, suspense and emotional drama. Rather than focusing only on revenge, it explores whether someone burdened by past mistakes can find redemption through difficult choices.

For fans of the first Awarapan, the sequel offers familiar themes of loneliness, sacrifice and the search for a meaningful life. However, viewers should expect a new storyline rather than a simple repetition of the original film.

Why Is Awarapan 2 Being Called a ₹200 Crore Blockbuster?

The ₹200 crore figure mentioned in some headlines needs careful interpretation. Available box-office listings do not establish that Awarapan 2 has officially earned ₹200 crore worldwide. One entertainment listing reports a box-office figure of approximately ₹146.15 crore, so the larger figure should not be treated as a confirmed collection without reliable supporting data.

Nevertheless, the film has generated considerable interest among fans of Emraan Hashmi. Several factors help explain its commercial appeal.

1. Emraan Hashmi’s Return as Shivam

The biggest attraction is Emraan Hashmi reprising his role. The character’s emotional struggles and complicated past give the sequel a strong connection to its predecessor.

2. Nostalgia for the Original Film

The 2007 Awarapan developed a lasting following after its theatrical release. Its music, tragic romance and emotional storytelling continue to attract viewers, making a sequel appealing to longtime fans.

3. A Mix of Action and Emotional Drama

The new film combines crime, rescue missions, relationships and redemption. This combination offers audiences more than a conventional action thriller.

4. OTT Accessibility

The digital release makes the film accessible to viewers who prefer watching movies at home. Streaming can also introduce the sequel to a new generation of viewers unfamiliar with the original.
