US House passes crypto bill despite warnings from SEC:

A historic bill aimed at creating a new regulatory framework for digital assets was passed by the US House of Representatives on Wednesday, paving the way for a potential confrontation with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

By a vote of 279-136, the “Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act,” which garnered bipartisan support, aims to promote industry expansion and provide clarity on the legal standing of cryptocurrencies. But the bill’s prospects in the Senate are dim, and SEC Chair Gary Gensler has voiced severe criticism, stating that it could subject investors to “immeasurable risk.”

In letters to Modi, Jaishankar, Palestine PM blames Israel forces for death of former Indian Army officer in Gaza: 

In letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Palestine Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa claimed that Colonel Vaibhav Anil Kale, a former Indian Army officer, was killed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza last week.

Mr. Mustafa demanded an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza in the letters dated May 16 in order to preserve lives and put an end to the carnage, which he referred to as a “war of genocide.”

Delhi Chief Minister accuses PM of bid to establish Russia-like government; says AAP targeted as an experiment before putting heat on other Opposition parties :

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started a “special project” with his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to arrest opposition leaders in order to eliminate them from politics and establish a one-leader system.

“The AAP experiment will be applied to other Opposition parties too if he retains the power in the Lok Sabha poll,” the chief minister declared during a town hall attended by attorneys.

U.S. opposes ‘unilateral’ Palestine recognition but warns Israel on funds:

Following the announcements by Ireland, Norway, and Spain that they would forge relations, the White House stated on May 22 that it was against “unilateral recognition” of a Palestinian state, but cautioned Israel against withholding funding in retaliation.

According to his National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, President Joe Biden “has been on the record supporting a two-state solution,” Sullivan said to reporters.

PM Modi takes a jibe at the Opposition says INDIA bloc extremely ‘communal, casteist and nepotistic’:

During a speech at a rally on Wednesday in Dwarka, West Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress and the INDIA bloc. “Communal, casteist, and nepotistic are the three things that everyone from the INDIA bloc has in common,” he declared.

Modi criticizes the Congress at a rally in Dwarka, West Delhi, saying the party is to blame for the slow progress of the nation and asking voters to choose between the BJP’s “nation first” and the Congress’s “family first.”
