In Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, a shocking incident occurred when a girl jumped Chitrakote Waterfalls of 90-feet height. Her actions were reportedly triggered by her parents’ scolding her for using a mobile phone. Fortunately, she survived the plunge and was found a few meters away. The incident took place in the Chitrakoot Chowki area on Tuesday evening.

Despite efforts by onlookers to dissuade her, the girl ignored their pleas and jumped into the waterfall. Some youths present at the scene recorded the entire incident on their mobile phones, and the video quickly spread on social media platforms.
Unsafe Chitrakote Falls:
The Chitrakote Waterfall, known as the “mini Niagara Falls” among locals, is about 38 km from Jagdalpur in Bastar and spans 300 meters wide during the monsoon season. Unfortunately, the waterfall lacks notable safety measures for tourists, leading to many accidents.
Girl jumps due to scolding:
Following the incident, the police launched an investigation and discovered that the girl’s extreme step was a result of her parents’ scolding her for using the mobile phone. She was later handed over to her family.
