The inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express, according to a Madurai division official, will also take care of the demand for daytime travel from Chennai’s Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar districts. In addition to reducing the demand for night trains, this new rail service is anticipated to improve connectivity to the southern region by offering speedier travel choices.

Weekends and festival seasons saw a spike in the number of passengers travelling along the Chennai-Tirunelveli-Nagercoil stretch. The festive rush in this area is now anticipated to decrease dramatically with the inauguration of the Vande Bharat Express, which will be advantageous to travellers from the Tiruchy, Madurai, and Virudhunagar districts who for years had to pay excessive rates to bus drivers.
