Is TMC hiding something: BJP questions TMC’s silence in MP Mahua Moitra’s case.

BJP Questions Trinamool Congress’s Silence Over Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra’s Case

The BJP responded strongly to a Trinamool Congress spokesperson’s statement that the party would not comment on the Mahua Moitra case. The BJP has questioned if Trinamool’s silence implies that the party recognizes the serious allegations leveled against the Krishnanagar MP or that the party has “something to hide.”

Ms Moitra is accused of accepting $2 million in bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for asking questions in parliament. Nishikant Dubey, a BJP MP, has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, requesting an investigation into claims that Ms Moitra accepted money from the businessman and disclosed her parliament login credentials. The claims have been dismissed by the Trinamool MP.

In response to Trinamool’s silence on the charges of cash-for-questions against Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated Trinamool can’t simply say “no comments” without clarifying whether their quiet means endorsement of Mahua Moitra’s “breach.” Inquiring as to why the party has not yet fired Mahua Moitra, the BJP leader questioned whether the party is frightened of taking action against Moitra because the party itself has something to hide. “Perhaps members of the party were aware of it or endorsed it?” “The TMC needs to clarify,” Poonawalla remarked.

“Does it mean TMC accepts Mahua Moitra had made serious breaches including giving her log-in to be operated from foreign soil by a rival corporate entity in exchange for kickbacks?”, said Shehzad Poonawalla.

The Trinamool Congress distanced itself from the scandal sparked by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s claim that Mahua Moitra supplied her Parliament password to industrialist Darshan Hiranandani, who posed concerns about Adani. While various Trinamool politicians participated in televised debates about the incident, the party did not issue a remark. Kunal Ghosh, the party’s state general secretary, stated that the party will not publish a remark on the matter. “There are no comments on this particular issue. We don’t have anything to say about it. The Trinamool Congress would not say anything. We have nothing to say or comment on. “The related person may explain or respond to the issues, but not the Trinamool Congress,” Kunal Ghosh stated.

The party is monitoring the situation, including the BJP’s charges, and gathering information, but there is no reaction at this time. said Kunal Ghosh.
