Cars Submerged as Hindon River Overflows

Hindon River Overflows cause havoc in Noida and Ghaziabad with cars submerged, houses flooded, power disruptions, and assistance provided to affected residents.

The Hindon river overflows with the rise in the water level resulting in the submergence of the area near Noida’s Ecotech 3 and many vehicles got stuck, including around 350 Ola cars parked in Greater Noida. Several houses in low-lying areas were also submerged due to the swollen river. The flood caused hundreds of people in the Hindon’s floodplains to be impacted, and they were moved to shelter homes. District authorities, including District Magistrate Manish Verma and Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, visited the affected areas to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance. Residents in low-lying areas were urged to relocate to safer locations or shelter homes for their safety.

Two bodies found in Hindon river:

In Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, the bodies of two boys, Adarsh (18) and Krish Mishra (16), who went missing after slipping into the deep waters of the Hindon River, were recovered on Monday. The incident occurred in Karhera village when the river’s water discharge increased, leading to flooding in the area. A rescue operation conducted by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) resulted in the retrieval of the two bodies. The flooding has prompted residents from affected areas to seek shelter with their relatives or in relief camps.

Flood Submerges Substations, Cuts Power:

Additionally, the floodwaters have caused two electric substations at Kanha Upvan and Morti to be submerged in eight feet of water, resulting in a disruption of electricity supply to the societies in Rajnagar extension. The situation has raised concerns for the safety and well-being of the people in the region, and authorities are closely monitoring the flood situation to provide necessary assistance and support to those affected.
