Will Rahul Gandhi Stop Bharat Jodo Yatra?

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated on Thursday that the government is coming up with “excuses” to stop the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra

The third and last day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, began on Friday in Sohna from Kherli Lala. According to the news agency PTI, senior party leaders participated in the foot march that arrived at Nuh, Haryana, on Wednesday from Rajasthan.

Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and celebrities Randeep Singh Surjewala and Kumari Selja walked beside Gandhi.

Congress Rahul Gandhi has also criticised the ruling party for unemployment and inflation.

On Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated that the government is coming up with “excuses” to stop the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, days after Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote to him to consider suspending the march if Covid protocols could not be followed.

The Yatra, which began in Kanyakumari on September 7, has covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

“The BJP had become wary of the growing power of his pan-India foot march and of ‘India’s truth’, and that ‘excuses’ – like the Covid-19 warning – were being used to stop him. It is their (BJP) new idea… they wrote a letter to me saying Covid is coming and (to) stop the Yatra. All these are excuses to stop this journey as they are scared of India’s truth,” Rahul Gandi said while addressing a gathering in Ghasera village in Haryana’s Nuh district.

“Hindustan ki shakti se, Hindustan ki Sachai se, yeh log dar Gaye hai, yeh Sachchayi hai (they have got scared of power and the truth of the nation. This is the truth),” the former Congress chief said.

Gandhi also said that “we do not want RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi’s hate-filled India”.

During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, as the Yatra entered Haryana. Rahul Gandhi said, “Congress is opening a shop of love in the market of hate through Bharat Jodo Yatra.”

Targeting the BJP, the Congress leader said, “When these people go out to spread hatred in India, people of our ideology go out to spread love and affection.”

After Bhartiya Janta Party won the 2019 election, communal hate was raised in the country; BJP MP Anurag Thakur Raised the slogan “desh Ke Gaddaro ko Goli Maro salon ko” During his 2020 election rally in Delhi.

Many people, including famous personalities like Raghuram Rajan, Pooja Bhatt etc., participated in this Yatra. Yet, few were even asked about their religion, language, or country of origin.
