Juneteenth 2025: Top Celebrations Across the United States.
No matter where you choose to celebrate, Juneteenth is a powerful occasion to learn, reflect, and rejoice in the ongoing story of liberation and the vibrant heritage of African Americans.
Top 5 Places to Joyfully Celebrate Juneteenth This Year
Juneteenth is a celebration held on June 19th every year marking the date an 1865 Union soldier came to Galveston, Texas, to break the news of freedom of African American enslaved people in America-whose emancipation was announced two years earlier by the Emancipation Proclamation. And, Juneteenth, which is now a federal holiday, serves as a sobering reminder of strength, freedom, and the continuing quest of equality. These are five spots that you should put in mind on how to celebrate Juneteenth this year-
1. Galveston, Texas:

It cannot be a better place than Galveston where the original declaration of the freedom was already released to realize the helpless importance of the Juneteenth. The festivals in Galveston have their history and tradition. On the occasion this year, there are a variety of occasions coming up such as the annual Juneteenth Parade, community picnics, and education programs in historical areas such as the Reedy Chapel AME Church, which was one of the places where General Order No. 3 was read. Exhibits and lectures are also offered by the Galveston Historical Foundation all through the month of June which provide an in-depth coverage of the contribution made by the island during this important time.
