In Indian society or mentality, a woman is always someone’s daughter, wife or mother but people often forget that she is an individual with a separate identity and does not need someone else’s name to complete hers every time.
When it comes to a celebrity, people expect star wives to sit at their lavish houses and enjoy their life with the money earned by their parents or husbands. However, people always need to understand that success doesn’t come easy, and they may live a lavish life, but only after years of hard work do they do to be independent and earn their own money.
Nowadays, our favourite celebrities never prefer to stick to the original career path that made them famous and instead turn to an entirely new field, i.e., entrepreneurship.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA JONAS
This global superstar has proven to be an immensely phenomenal actress with her performance in numerous Indian and Hollywood projects, followed by two other singles and the show Quantico.
Besides being an actress, singer, and fashion icon, Priyanka launched her hair care line called – Anomaly, making it affordable for everyone. She also owns a production house called Purple Pebble Pictures and an Indian restaurant in New York called ‘Sona’ which she describes as a “labour of love.”

Apart from these, she has also launched her autobiography – Unfinished, which is already ranked number 1. She has also invested in businesses like Bumble, a dating app launched in 2014, and Holberton, a computer science school founded in Silicon Valley for aspiring software engineers.
GAURI KHAN
Conferred the title “The First Lady of Bollywood” by a Canadian magazine She Canada. She is the co-owner of Red Chillies Entertainment and Kolkata Knight Riders and owns an interior design firm. Gauri is famously known for designing spaces for celebrities like Roberto Cavalli, Mukesh Ambani, Ralph Lauren, Jacqueline Fernandez, Karan Johar, and Sidharth Malhotra.
In 2018, Gauri Khan was listed under the ’50 Most Powerful Women’ in one of the magazines of Fortune India.
TWINKLE KHANNA
Twinkle Khanna may not have an obsession with films, but she has done a lot in her career. Twinkle is the owner of an interior designing firm named ‘The White Window’. She is also a newspaper columnist for The Times of India and Daily News and Analysis. Her debut novel ‘Mrs. Funny bones’ sold more than 1 lac copies, and ‘Pyjamas Are Forgiving’ and ‘The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad’ has been a hit in the community of readers. She is also a film producer and produced Akshay’s ‘Padman.’
The author, producer, and interior designer is also the owner of a digital media company called Tweak India which is a platform for Indian women to share and challenge old ideas to discover new ones, along with holding discussions on health, wellness, career, life, and more.
SUSSANNE KHAN
Sussanne never relied on her parents or superstar husband for anything and always lived her life like a princess. This self-made woman owns two of Mumbai’s biggest interior designing firms named ‘House of Design’. Sussanne Khan has done her Art Associate degree course in Interior Designing from the U.S.A. She collaborated with Gauri Khan in 2011 to open India’s first interior fashion design store, The Charcoal Project.
MANA SHETTY
Mana Shetty is the owner of several businesses. She is a social activist, a designer, and a businesswoman and owns R-House in Mumbai. She holds a chain of luxury hotels, fashion stores, and a home decor store. She is also related to various NGOs and a real estate venture.
Mana Shetty has associations with an NGO called Save the Children India. She is also renowned for organising exhibitions in the name of Araaish. The money collected from these exhibitions is donated to the welfare of underprivileged women and other various charitable causes
ALIA BHATT
Everybody already knows Alia by her impeccable on-screen performances and multiple talents like singing and dancing. However, did you know Alia is also a philanthropist and an investor? Not very long ago, she became one of Bollywood’s youngest and top actresses to become an entrepreneur. She launched her conscious clothing line – Ed-a-Mamma, which caters to kids below 14. This is Alia’s first attempt at a business, and she seems highly thoughtful about making a sustainable clothing brand for children.
Alia Bhatt has taken her conscious clothing brand for children, Ed-a-Mamma, to a record 10X growth in 10 months as it launched its first edition of the Autumn-Winter line and was consistently ranked as one of the top 3 brands on Myntra in the kids wear category, within three months of launch on the platform.
SEEMA KHAN
One of the famous fashion designers who designs dresses and costumes for actors and actresses in the Bollywood industry. She also owns a clothing store in Mumbai and Dubai. Her clientele includes celebrities like Malaika Arora Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Katrina Kaif.
PREITY ZINTA

Preity is the owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team King’s XI Punjab. Along with this, she also owns a production house called PZNZ media. Still, she was one of the top actresses of her time and is very much now in the public eye through her various entrepreneurial ventures.
DEEPIKA PADUKONE
One of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses earns a lot of money through her apparel line known as ‘All About You.’ Deepika launched her online clothes business in 2015 with the online shopping giant for clothing – Myntra, along with a women’s fashion line with Van Hussain. She also owns a film production house called Ka productions.
The actress also runs a foundation to create awareness about mental health called Live, Love, Laugh to support and normalise people with mental health issues along with these. She has also invested in start-up enterprises like Epigamia, a yoghurt brand, and Purplle – beauty products.
KATRINA KAIF
The British actress who works in Hindi movies launched her makeup – a beauty brand called ‘Kay Beauty’, in association with Nykaa. It was reported that the latest addition to her product line is the Hydrating Foundation which is available in 20 diverse shades and caters to a range of Indian skin tones. Also, Katrina is involved with her mother’s charity and participates in various shows.
ANUSHKA SHARMA
Not a part of nepotism, she still made her way to the top and is one of Bollywood’s most bankable actresses today. Besides having a huge fan base, she is also a successful entrepreneur and launched her clothing brand- Nush, on Myntra. Apart from this, Anushka has also formed a new film production firm with her brother.
MALAIKA ARORA
Malaika is a fitness enthusiast, and her love and passion for Yoga encouraged her to start a yoga studio – Diva Yoga. Malaika joined hands with Bipasha Basu and Sussanne Khan to be a part of the e-commerce clothing website – ‘The Label Life.’
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is celebrated on November 19 on a global scale to commemorate the significant contribution of women who have worked all their lives for the betterment of themselves and society. This day is observed to acknowledge the dedication of women who put all their effort into economic growth.
