India’s cricketing doyen Jagmohan Dalmiya passed away yesterday evening.
Closely associated with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for nearly 4 decades, he played a very influential role on the development of the sport, not only in India, but Internationally too.
He served as the President of BCCI from 2001-04, and was again called in last year.
Considered a stabilizing hand in the Indian cricketing world, his sagacious counsel and guidance will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
