Narendra Modi lauds Indian Scientist

Through tweets, the PM has said that India’s space programme has shown the transformative potential of science and technology in people’s lives.

He also mentioned that, over years India has developed expertise and capability to help other nations in their space initiatives. This is the skills of the Indian scientists.

Asserting that he felt immense joy, when he saw the students from institutions in Pune and Chennai playing a role in the making of the satellites, the PM said that he was moved by this development.

ISRO has launched 20 satellites, which includes 17 foreign payloads, while using its flagship rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C34 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh today.

The vehicle launched lifts off with India’s Cartosat 2 series satellite which is meant for earth observations as the primary payload and 19 other micro and nano satellites.

ISRO made two unique records, as it launched an unprecedented 20 payloads in a single mission, from second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

The entire mission lasted for 26 and a half minutes by the time all satellites were put into a polar synchronous orbit one by one of 505 km height.

Later, the fourth stage engine of the rocket is going to be examined under a complex experiment by re-igniting it twice to check its ability to launch number of satellites at different heights in a single mission.
