Addressing the 6th Global Focal Point Conference on Asset Recovery in New Delhi, organized by India’s Central Bureau of Intellegence (CBI), Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that corruption is a core challenge for the Government in addressing poverty and other issues.
He itereated that the country is going through a transformation in development, and bringing prosperity, and said “…where our farmeres are capable, our workers satisfied, our women empowered and our youth self-reliant.”
In this context he mentioned that already 45 high ranking Government officers are facing various punishments, including dismissal, pension cuts, etc. due to corruption.
