The Supreme Court announced on Tuesday that it has allowed the stay of Massimiliano Latorre to be extended till 30th September. The Italian marine can now stay outside India till 30th September.

A fresh undertaking was also demanded from the Marine before 30th April, that will state that he would return to India whenever the court asks. Since arbitration proceedings are still going on, the SC took this decision.
The two marines, who were on the oil tanker MT Enrica Lexie are accused for killing two Indian fisherman. The incident had occurred on February 15, 2012, 20.5 nautical miles from the Indian coast (according to the Italian submission to PCA).
