Deep Kumar Upadhyay was once again appointed as Nepal’s envoy to India.
The meeting which took place at the Prime Minister’s office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, proposed Upadhyay for Nepal’s official ambassador to India and Chief Secretary Lila Mani Poudel for China, stated the Kathmandu Post.

Earlier, Upadhyay was working as Nepal’s ambassador to India since April 2015,but was suddenly called back by the then K.P. Sharma Oli government in May.
Upadhyay, has previously worked as an assistant finance minister.
In the 2008 Constituency Assembly elections, he was elected from the Kapilvastu-1, however lost the polls from the same constituency in the 2014 elections.
