14 years of Godhra Riots

On the 27th of February, 2002 an incident occurred that became an important mark in the history of India. An incident that caused the death of 59 people and came to be known as the ‘Godhra Train Burning’ incident.

A mob attacked the Sabarmati Express near the Godhra station in Gujarat that was returning from Ayodhya. What happened after this is something that the world today is very well aware of. There were a total of 31 people who were convicted for burning the train.

This unfortunate incident is etched in the minds of almost every India. And today, as this event completes 14 years, we can only pray for all those who lost their souls because of this act of violence.
