  1. Sachin Tendulkar 

Well, he is not known as God for no reason. Tendulkar is a name in himself and a class apart when it comes to cricket. Every Indian knows to associate Jersey 10 with the ‘Master Blaster’. He has an international career spanning more than 24 years and many (many!) records to his name. His kind nature, humility, and passion for the game have made him the country’s favourite. 

2. Rahul Dravid

patience, sheer talent, and ability to lead the team to a win are what have made him a great player.  Even after his retirement, he has contributed largely as a coach to various teams and players. 

3. Sourav Ganguly

“Dada” is nothing short of legendary in every possible way- be it cricket or the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). His captaincy in the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup was instrumental in leading the team to the finals. He is still very much active in the cricket scene of India and is a loved cricketer. 

4. Anil Kumble

Nicknamed “Jumbo”,  Kumble is an important cricketer who has been one of the greatest spin bowlers in the history of the game. His ability to be accurate and consistent in all his matches has made him a legend.

5. Sunil Gavaskar

If you love and follow cricket, you will know that Gavaskar is hands down one of the best opening batsmen. His techniques are still followed and given as examples as his mastery over them had led India to many such victories. 

6. Kapil Dev

The first-ever World Cup victory for India was due to Kapil Dev in 1983. He is an all-rounder cricketer who played an important role in India’s cricketing career in the 1980s. A respected and loved cricketer till-date, he is the top cricketer in Indian history.

7. M.S Dhoni

The man is everything that is right about Indian cricket. He is a legend, a God, and one of the most iconic and loved cricketers in India to date. He is a lovely soul who has captained India through the toughest of times and emerged victorious. He is the pride of India and his wicket-keeping, batting, and leadership skills are beyond amazing. He is known as “Captain Cool” for a reason.

8. Virat Kohli 

Kohli has been a rocket for the Indian cricket team in terms of how fast he has made multiple records. His aggressive play, passion and hard-core dedication makes him loved not only in India, but the world as a loved cricket celebrity.

9. Rohit Sharma

He is correctly known as “Hitman” because of his ability to hit runs one after the other. He can play well in all forms of cricket, tackle any bowler, and has a solid technique. To watch him play is a complete rush and should not be missed. 

10. Virender Sehwag

The “Nawab of Najafgarh” is known for his batting style and stroke play. Along with being a great player, he has been an extremely polite and kind-hearted soul and this has made him one of the top Indian cricketers.
