Master Blaster Refuses to Give Up Saying I Still Believe in you After Sachin Tendulkar tells Prithvi Shaw Wapas Track Pe Aaja
From Stardom to Struggles: Prithvi Shaw’s Journey Back to the Pitch
A Mentor’s Faith: Sachin’s Continued Support for Prithvi Shaw
This was in 2014 Prithvi Shaw who was fifteen years old was making an appearance. In his second year of adolescence Shaw was scoring runs everywhere. Shaw lit every tournament on fire to the point where he was hailed as India’s next Sachin Tendulkar at such a young age. We would also think that it was audacious. However honestly Shaw’s potential set him on the path to greatness despite his humble origins as a child prodigy. Shaw made headlines in 2013 when he hit a century in his first Ranji Trophy match after smashing 546 in a Harris Shield match four years later.
Early International Success
For a very long time he was living up to those expectations. Shaw who is eighteen years old led India to victory in the Under-19 World Cup with a team that included Shubman Gill, Arshdeep Singh and Abhishek Sharma all of whom are Indian players. Shaw’s promise was further enhanced when he was called up to the national team that same year and scored a century in his Test debut against England. Shaw was eliminated after suffering a strange injury during a practice match but he did make it to the Australian tour. Despite his ups and downs Shaw continued to return to the Indian fold.
Struggles and Setbacks
Shaw stayed on the selectors radar even after his notorious ban for using cough syrup. until last year when a terrible thing happened. Shaw failed to sell at the IPL mega-auction and was cut from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad. Rumors about his lack of discipline surfaced once more. The renowned Tendulkar was among the few who reached out to Shaw after he acknowledged that his attention had strayed from cricket because of some unsavory company. Shaw has essentially always had Tendulkar at his disposal. Shaw disclosed that Sachin still supports him even during his darkest moments after previously giving him some insightful counsel.
A Lifelong Bond with Sachin Tendulkar
My journey is known to Sakin Sir. Since we were 8 or 9 years old Arjun and I have been friends. We’ve grown up and played together. Sir was occasionally present as well. A little while ago I also spoke with him. Almost two months ago. The MIG was where he was practicing. I was also there. I also spoke with him at that time. You need a mentor who can ignite your passion when things go wrong and you start to lose it. He still thinks I’m real. Prithvi said I still believe in you and I will continue to do so. . since he has witnessed my maturation. He still tells me Sahi track pe aa ja jaise pehle tha (Return to the same path as before). The next thirteen to fourteen years could see anything. He believes in me which means a lot Shaw said in an interview.

Prithvi Shaw Resumes her Rigorous Training
Shaw last represented India in July 2021 but he was still considered until January 2022 when he was included in the squad for the T20Is against New Zealand but was unable to play. Since then Shaw has focused on domestic cricket. In a Ranji Trophy match against Assam he scored 379 runs. In August 2023 he even got off to a strong start for Northamptonshire scoring 244 and then another century. The wheels began to come off after that though. He only had one strong innings to show for his efforts in the Mumbai T20 League where he recently played. But Shaw isn’t going to give up and has resumed his rigorous training regimen. He claims to be in better shape than he was in 2018 after losing weight.
