The former world no.1 junior badminton player, Lakshya Sen wins the Canada Open 2023.
Lakshya Sen proves that age is just a number as in his short career span he has won a world championship (bronze), a Youth Olympics silver medal, also won gold medal at the Asian junior championship 2018.
Lakshya puts an end to the draught by winning the Canada open against Chinese Li Shifeng. The score was 21-18, 22-20 in 50 minutes. Lakshya took lead in 6-2, Shifeng levelled at 15 in all. 21 year old Lakshya validated his skills and determination by claiming the victory and adding another medal in his name.

Lakshya Sen who won men’s single title at the 58th Canada open 2023 comes from a badminton family. His father DK. Sen is one of the most respected coaches in the Indian badminton circuit, while his paternal grandfather used to play sports in his home town. Lakshya Sen’s elder brother Chirag was a national rank holder in U-13 age group.

Lakshya was later trained at the famous Prakash Padukone’s academy and was mentored by him. Currently Lakshya is all set to conquer greater things and continues to make India proud.
