Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Chattisgarh have also followed suit, albeit with a lesser subsidy, between Rs.120 to Rs.145 per Kilogram.

In the meantime, authorities have started a crackdown on hoarders of the precious commodity across the nation, and have so far seized a few thousand tons, all of which is being routed to PDS shops.
