Following Tamil Nadu, which started selling subsidised lentils at Rs.30 per kg through ration shops, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana are selling toor at Rs.50 per kg.
Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Chattisgarh have also followed suit, albeit with a lesser subsidy, between Rs.120 to Rs.145 per Kilogram.
In the meantime, authorities have started a crackdown on hoarders of the precious commodity across the nation, and have so far seized a few thousand tons, all of which is being routed to PDS shops.
