Maybe not according to actor Oliver Masucci, who plays Adolf Hitler in a satire called ‘Look Who’s Back’, based on a best seller by author Timur Vermes.
Oliver went on a tour of Germany, replete with Hitler’s trademark toothbrush moustache, and interacted with ordinary citizens. He was surprised at the warm welcome he received, and how candid people became with him, forgetting that they were on camera.
What disturbed Oliver, and the film’s director David Wnendt was the mental shift towards extreme right they encountered in a lot of people they interacted with.
David said, “How can it be that so many people react positively to Hitler, accept him?”
