Talking about their target and the need of such product in India market, Mr. Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India Pvt. Ltd, said, “Projection requirements of Indian customers have evolved over the years. Apart from being used for projecting data, customers are now using it to project movies, videos and games as well. The new Canon projectors are equipped with high quality optics to cater to such needs. We will be reaching out to potential customers across all the major metros and aim to capture 10% market share by 2017.”

Since Canon already has a niche market in terms of DLSR, talking about how are they planning towards creating a niche for projectors, K.Bhaskhar (Vice President, Canon India Pvt. Ltd) said, “The projector is an environment friendly product as it introduces enhanced lamp lighting system and a standby mode consuming very little electricity leading to reduction in co2 emission. Canon does has a niche market when it comes to DLSR cameras however when it comes to projector we have LCOS in XEED series to differentiate it from the rest projectors in market. In LV series, we have introduced short-throw which would be a great player in two segments- house application and education. This feature would allow display of images within short distance without hampering the picture and colour quality. LCOS helps you to have the real-life-like experience by giving clear image.”

We are more focussed on building channel network.”
