Amarnath Yatra Registrations Begin Today: Check Travel Dates And Dos & Don’ts To Keep In Mind
Every year a large number of people come to the Amarnath cave which is at an altitude of 3,880 m above the sea level in south Kashmir Himalayas and take part in this pilgrimage very closely. And this year. The first registration phase for the holy pilgrimage has started. The dates are declared to start the yatra. The announcement made on Sunday, the pilgrimage will start on June 29 and end on August 19. The annual pilgrimage takes along two routes: the age-old 48 kms Nunwan-Pahalgam way in Anantnag district and the short term but steep 14 kms Baltal link in Ganderbal.
How To Register?
- For the 2024 seva the registration fees is Rs 150 for person and it will be issued only on the first – come– first — serve manner. Pilgrims have to go through a process of registration which involves performing eKYC authentication process with their biometric data at bank branches.

- Moreover, doctors need to be formally registered for collecting the Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) according to the stipulated rules, and Aadhar Card or government-recognized valid identity card in the light of the April 8th, 2024, development.
- Only RFID cardholders will be allowed to proceed to the exit point situated at Domiji/Chhandanwadi.

Do’s For Yatra
- Have your Aadhaar particulars handy in order to collect RFID Cards.
- Wear your RFID tag around your neck all through Yatra for safety and security reasons.
- It is advisable to have plenty of woolen clothing because sometimes the temperature can drop down to below 5 degree Celsius.
- Carry umbrella, windcheater, raincoat and waterproof shoes as the weather in the Yatra region remains unpredictable.
- Of course, don’t just leave your clothes or eatable things without a suitable waterproof bag else your belongings will get wet.
- Keep with you a notepad that contains the name / address, telephone numbers of any Yatri proceeding for Darshan on the same date as you are doing, in case of emergencies.

Don’ts for the Yatris:
- No yatri will be allowed to join the Yatra without an RFID card.

- Alcohol and caffeinated beverages are dangerous and smoking is a risk too.
- Do not choose the places which are marked with warning signs.
- Avoid slippers, for it has some steep rises and falls on the way to Cave Kokonoinne. Wear trekking shoes that have laces only.

- During the entire forward/return journey, do not do anything which can pollute or insulate the environment of the Yatra area. Use of plastics is banned in the State and is a punishable offense under the law.
The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) announced the schedule for the annual yatra to the sacred Amarnath shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas.
