On 9th February a sedition case was filed against three JNU students for hosting an event in remembrance of Afzal Guru on the JNU campus.

What followed was a huge struggle to jail these students for their actions. After these students were jailed, they were granted an interim bail for six months which was to end this September. The three then moved to get a regular bail which was granted to them by a trial court. The court said that there was no reason to deny the three “relief”.
The order was passed as the Delhi Police did not oppose the request and said that they had cooperated with them whenever it was necessary.
