PM Modi will discuss Kashmir situation in high-level meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a high level meeting today in order to review the current situation in the Kashmir Valley, as Kashmir has faced one of the worst violence in the recent years that has left 23 people dead.

As per reports, Rajnath Singh the Union Home Minister and Manohar Parrikar, Defence Minister along with other senior officials will also be the part of this meeting.

PM Modi, who has returned from his four-nation and five-day tour of Africa today, will be given a detailed presentation on the situation in Kashmir Valley.

However, the Separatist groups, meanwhile, has extended their strike call in Jammu and Kashmir by two more days till tomorrow.

Kashmir has been facing the widespread protests across the valley over Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani’s killing. Separatists’ has been calling for a shutdown ever since.

As a result, normal life has been paralyzed in the Valley due to the curfew-like restrictions and separatists-sponsored strike in the wake of the Wani’s killing in an encounter earlier on July 8.
