Mobile Network restored in Jammu

Mobile Internet services now has been now restored in Jammu region, after a long 17 day ban that was imposed after the killing of Burhan Wani Hizbul Mujahideen commander during an encounter with the security forces in South Kashmir on July 8.

The news was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Jammu Simrandeep Singh.

The orders have now been issued to further restore the mobile Internet services with immediate effect, he said.

Due to the protest in the Jammu region after the start of unrest in Kashmir, the authorities have decided to shut down the mobile Internet services across 10 districts of the region.

Complaining that the industry had already suffered and further suffering huge damages due to this ban on mobile Internet services, the Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) Jammu had demanded an immediate restoration of the services.

Rakesh Gupta, the CCI Jammu chief, had also written to the state government, that the internet services should be restored without any further delay.
