According to a report, the government has launched a probe into data leak on Scorpene submarines.
The defence ministry said that it appears the source of leak is from overseas and not from India.
Notably, the leak contains more than 22,000 pages outlining secret capabilities of six Scorpene submarines.

The government is now investigating damage caused by the leak to the French Scorpene submarines, which is built in the country. The leak was reported by the Australian newspaper.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured to find out that what has happened.
