After cities like Banglore and Delhi, taxi aggregator Uber would launch carpool service in Kolkata this year, offering at least 30 percent lower fares for those, who share cab rides as part of efforts to reduce pollution.
General Manager of Uber India System, Ashwin Dias said that they are going to launch carpool service in Kolkata. This will help us to overcome pollution levels, which are choking the various metros of the country.
He further added that passengers, who will share rides for the same direction, there fares will be reduced by 30 percent.
This is one of the effective steps taken by Uber in Kolkata to reduce the level of pollution.
