The Lie Tree wins the title of Costa book of the year!

A children’s novel ‘The Lie Tree has been named Costa book of the year. According to judges the Frances Hardinge’s Victorian murder mystery will get the attention of the people from all walks of life.

The last children’s book that won the award was Philip Pullman’s, The Amber Spyglass in 2002.

The Lie Tree beat the bookmakers’ favorite debut, The Loney and won the prize of pound 30k.

After winning the title, the author gave a special message and added “It is a fantastic journey to write children’s fiction and for those, who think children fiction is not their piece please do come and explore there is beautiful jungle out there.”
