April 21 marks World Creativity & Innovation Day: Let’s get creative during crisis 

No more hum-drum day to day sameness. Get Creative!


21st April marks World Creativity day. It is a global UN day celebrated to raise awareness around the importance of creativity and innovation. People in businesses, organizations, schools and communities take part in this day to generate new ideas for a bright future. Marci Segal, a creativity specialist came up with the idea for World Creativity and Innovation Day. When she came across a newspaper headline which said, “Canada in Creativity Crisis.”

Then Segal decided to do something and eventually with the support of her friends and colleagues, she organized the first World Creativity Day to encourage people to use creativity to make world a better place.

How to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation day? 

Creativity and innovation are beneficial in every walk of life, and every career. From a person who is in customer service finding ways to improve their customer experience to a scientists whose everyday work is filled with learning new things about the world. World Creativity and Innovation day encourages everyone to imagine a world with different solutions.

To make the best use of World Creativity and Innovation day, you can start your day out by brainstorming, sit down and think of all the things you do during the day and how you might change them for better. Throughout the entire day keep a notepad along with you so that you can pen down the ideas that pops up at the moment.

Even if you get a creative idea for others you can always circulate them. Got an idea for your local municipality? Send it to them and let them know you think that idea may benefit people there. Got an idea for your Workplace? Inform your boss about it. This day is not just a mere creativity day but it holds value as, This day could be the day that set your life into a whole new path!
