Sawan also known as Shavran is an auspicious month for Hindus, observes in mid-July and lasts in mid of August. These days rain lashes heavily in most parts of India.   But rains, bring along with it an array of illnesses that may hamper your health.

According to Bangalore-based nutritionist Anju Sood, “In monsoon, our immunity goes down and we are more vulnerable to diseases. The best way to stave them off is with some healthy food and stay hydrated all the time.”

Ginger

You can add this condiment to your monsoon diet for having maximum benefit.

Fresh fruits

Fruits are rich in antioxidants and contain digestion-aiding properties. Make this a habit to munch an apple every day. Well, the best way of eating fruit is to eat it as it is. Or you can blend it into a creamy smoothie. This will reduce cholesterol levels, risk of diabetes, and obscenity.

Beetroot
