Back pain can be extremely distressing and painful. However, a few home remedies that can help in managing back pain are as follows.

  1. Using a hot or cold therapy- For cold therapy, apply a cold pack where you can use an ice pack on the affected area as soon as you feel any pain. After 48 hours of initial pain, you can go for a hot compress to relax your muscles and improve blood circulation. 
  2. The easiest and most important home remedy for back pain is stretching and exercising. As we are constantly sitting down and working on our laptops these days, our body does not get enough movement. This causes the muscles to become sore, hence gentle stretching and exercise every few minutes can help with minor back pains. 
  3. Massage is a great way to relax your muscles and reduce tension. You can always opt for a massage at home whenever you have back pain. 
  4. Proper posture- Though this is not a home remedy per se, proper posture can also help you reduce the chances of getting back pain. Having a bath with warm water relaxes your muscles and soothes the back pain. So whenever you feel that the back pain is getting a lot, make sure that you have a warm water bath. 
  5. Yoga is also a great way to improve flexibility and strengthen your core muscles. However, knowing to do the correct yoga asanas with back pain is very important. 
  6. Practices like meditation and progressive muscle relaxation can also help in reducing tension in your back. 
  7. Having a bath with Epsom salts can also help release pain and relax muscles. 
  8. Aromatherapy is highly effective when you want to relax when the back pain is induced because of stress. Use essential oils like peppermint or camomile.
