What are limiting beliefs? 

Limiting beliefs are these small thoughts that you have that put a doubt on yourself. It makes you question yourself and puts restrictions on you. Think about it as a voice that keeps on telling you that you are not good enough or you will not be able to achieve something. These limited beliefs stop you from achieving your truest potential.

How are limiting beliefs a roadblock to our lives and in our journey?

When we have limiting beliefs, we deny ourselves the chance to live life fully. It stops us from achieving what we are truly achieving of capable of it causes a lot of self-doubt and questions about our capabilities. 

Having limiting beliefs also restricts us from taking chances and risks that could be more rewarding. Limiting beliefs sometimes not only impacts us but can as a result impact people around us as well. 

How do we notice these limiting beliefs? 

The basic step in making sure that you can notice these limiting beliefs is to stop, question, counter, question, and move on. 

Whenever you notice yourself in some sort of doubt or pondering over a question that isn’t truly a big deal, you know that it is a limiting belief. Anything, absolutely anything that makes you doubt yourself is a limiting belief. Whenever you come across such thoughts, make sure you question yourself, such as why will I not be able to do this? Do I not have the capability to do this? Am I incapable of doing this? 

When you ask such questions, you’ll realize that the answer to these is most definitely no, because you do have the capability to do these things and you can do them if you set your mind to it. 

This is how you spot limiting beliefs. Once you do that, make sure to counter them and move on to break them with positive thoughts and actions. 

So how do we break through these limiting beliefs through positive thoughts? 

Positive thoughts are extremely invigorating and can help you embark on a new journey. So break free from these limiting beliefs and unleash the potential of positive thoughts. 

What are some of the positive thoughts that can help you? 

  1. Positive Affirmations:- 

I am capable of doing this. I am worthy of success. I embrace challenges as much as possible. I am confident and resilient. 

Positive affirmations that align with your beliefs are extremely important to help you unleash your potential. 

  1. Another way you can do this is to visualize your way or your life without these limiting beliefs. Close your eyes and vividly imagine success, happiness, and self-assurance.

  1. Reframe your beliefs

Instead of saying “I cannot”, start saying “I can”. Replace your negative beliefs with positive ones and see how they can change your life.
