India Eyes Global Outreach to Counter Pakistan’s Terrorism Narrative

The government of India is said to be considering sending a group of politicians to several nations to highlight Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism. The news of additional troops was reported after a terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, killed 26 people from various countries. India holds The Resistance Front (TRF), a front for the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), responsible for the attack, and says that Pakistan is giving aid and refuge to such terrorists.

Authorities state that parliament members from various political backgrounds will be part of the delegation to unite in their opposition to terrorism that comes from Pakistan. The delegation is specified to work with abroad officials, lawmakers, and organizations to present information on Pakistan’s role in terrorism and the help it offers to terror outfits in its territory.

The paperwork will likely have facts about the Pahalgam attack, a plan of the TRF’s activities, its connection to LeT, and evidence of Pakistan’s involvement. India has given some of the evidence to the UN Security Council (UNSC) and is calling for TRF to be designated as a terrorist group by the UNSC 1267 sanctions committee.

Making these diplomatic efforts is a part of India’s attempt to stop terrorism and separate Pakistan from the world stage. In response to the Pahalgam attack, India started “Operation Sindoor” to attack terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). However, the fighting only lasted for a short time, as both sides agreed on a ceasefire. Still, India believes that there can be no improvement in ties with Pakistan until it makes strong and lasting moves to stop terrorism on both sides.

India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has emphatically stated to Parliament that any sort of dialogue with Pakistan only pertains to the issue of terrorism. He also pointed that the Indus Waters Treaty, which is the water-sharing treaty between the two countries, is suspended until Pakistan stops its cross-border terrorism. Moreover, India firmly believes that the only thing to be discussed on the issue of Kashmir is the vacation of illegally occupied Indian territory in PoK.

Pakistan outrightly denied any involvement in the Pahalgam attack and offered to cooperate in any neutral and credible investigation. India, however, claims that it has provided irrefutable evidence in the past of Pakistan’s support of terror groups only for it be of no consequence.

India’s multi-party delegation is a vital component to India’s rallying efforts to Internationally apply pressure on Pakistan to take action against terrorism. By gathering leaders from across the spectrum of parties, India is attempting to send a message to the International community to show its resolve in confronting terrorism and taking those who support it to task. How successful this diplomatic effort will depend on the willingness of the International community to accept India’s concerns, and take action against Pakistan’s terrorism.
