MP government will impose six percent tax on online shopping

The Madhya Pradesh Government has announced that it will impose six percent tax on online shopping, and the reasons cited for this development is to increase the state’s revenue and entail everything within the tax bracket with no expectations at all.

According to the MP finance Minister Jayant Malaiya, this tax will be imposed on the items they get through transporters. Further, all the online shipments will be put under supervision, no matter it is from within the country or from abroad.

He also mentioned the motto behind this change; it is to put all the tax free things in the tax bracket and also aims to benefit those who suffer losses because of selling commodities by imposing with taxes.

Malaiya also said that this initiative has also come in response to the losses incurred by the government due to the constant proliferation on the internet-based retailers like Flipkart, Amazon, etc.
