“With a heavenly colour palette that brightens up your day, monsoon season must-haves are going to be a sight to the sore eyes. Carrying forward the summer trend of sorbet colors, the monsoon colour palette will be two shades deeper. Incorporate tones of wilted rose, deep blush to tangerine and gold, for a wardrobe that ranges from your fun, everyday separates like crop tops & skirts, dresses, shorts to even bridal-wear consisting of lehengas, sarees and gowns. Also doing the rounds of the fashion circuit will be the color of year – Marsala. Adding earthiness and making heads turn, Marsala and its tonal counterparts will be the talk of town and its sightings will definitely add to the monsoon appeal. Done in light and fuss-free fabrics such as tulle, silk organza and French chiffons, you’ll fall in love with this versatile trendsetting mix of colours, fabrics and silhouettes befitting this season’s essentials” says ace designer Nivedita Saboo.

From runway to street style, monsoon will also witness a barrage of delightful prints in a collection of colours which can be included in to everything from tops, skirts, dresses, saris, lehengas and gowns for women to Sherwanis, Kurtas, deconstructed summer jackets, shorts, shirts and trousers for men. From big and bold, floral to geometric, add elements of fun and interesting prints to your array of personal sartorial choices. For brides to be, choose bright, happy, playful tones of the season.

Fusion For Monsoon

Nivedita further says that a classic red with Marsala undertones is the perfect choice for a traditional D-day ensemble. “Lehengas with light translucent layering of beautiful fabrics which are lightly embellished or embroidered are right on trend too. Opt for bold threadwork, add a little shimmer or go for a digitally printed, fuss-free Lehenga for the bedazzling stylish bridal look. Men can opt for dressy fabrics which are easy to maintain. Comfort blend, de-constructed sherwanis which are teflon coated are a perfect choice for the rainy months. Use micro fabrics for a political jacket or an Indo-western in Marsala, chocolate brown or black to channelize the classic yet modern man,” says the designer.
