India’s food regulatory authority – FSSAI is not letting go of Nestle India Ltd. over the Maggi issue.
Despite getting the all clear from laboratories, and required permissions, the food regulator still wants the ban on Maggi to continue. To this end, FSSAI has India’s Supreme Court, against a order from Mumbai High Court, which allowed the re-launch of Maggi.
Contending that the Mumbai High Court had ‘erred’ by putting the sampling onus on Nestle India Ltd., instead of a third party neutral laboratory, FSSAI has filed their petition in the Supreme Court of India.
