Impromptu: PMO helps for free heart surgery

A six year old girl from Pune, was suffering from a heart condition, she wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking financial assistance and was granted promptly after which he underwent surgery and is now recovering.

Vaishali Yadav, who comes from a poor family, suffered from a hole in his heart.

His father, a minor painter, could not afford expensive heart surgery and had even sold their toys and bikes for the purchase of medicines.

Within a week, of asking assistance the Prime Minister’s Office alerted the district administration Pune, prompting them to help the girl. District officials trace the address of the family and the girl rushed to Ruby Hall Clinic based in the city in which he was successfully operated for free on June 2.

The girl is fine and healthy now and was discharged on Wednesday. Rao said a report of his surgery has been sent to the PMO by his office after he was discharged from the hospital.
