Food with high content of fat to be banned in schools of capital

The Arvind Kejriwal’s government is perfectly working in national capital and now government has decided to ban food items that are high in fat, sugar and salt in school canteens.

Circular issued by the directorate of education to the schools says that ill-effects of junk food should be discussed in schools during morning assembly, teacher interactive periods and parents’ teacher meeting.

The circular further added that junk food should be replaced by food items like Veg- sandwiches, fruits, paneer cutlets, jaljeera etc.

Uday Foundation an NGO filed a PIL in the Delhi high court in the year 2010 to seek complete ban on the junk food sold in schools as it is injurious for students’ health.
