Exclusive chat with Manara Handa: ‘Zid’

 

B-town is becoming a great platform for rising stars. And these young stars are extremely talented. And now there is one more name added to the list of youngistan, which is going to register itself in the list of hits of Bollywood.

 

After Bollywood divas Priyanka and Parineeti now it’s the turn of their cousin Manara Handa to mesmerize the audience with her acting skills in the movie Zid.

Over a candid conversation with One World News, she shared her memorable experience and revealed some amazing facts about herself.

 

1. What Kind of a person is Manara Handa?

Well, I’m regular type of a girl who loves to explore all the things around her. I am a girl from Delhi and I am feeling wonderful coming to Delhi after one year. As a person I am not that independent, for me my mom and my family are very important. I take all my decisions by taking inputs from my family.

 

2. Why did you choose acting as a career?

It was not planned that I would become an actress. I was a student of fashion designing but I was a very good dancer. So, I got an offer to become a choreographer but when I came to Mumbai I gave so many auditions and finally was signed in Zid.

 

 

3. Why did you change your name from Barbie Handa to Manara Handa?

I was and I will remain Barbie for my family and friends but it was just that I wanted to grow as a person that’s why I changed my name.

 

4. Who inspires you in Bollywood?

My sister Priyanka is a huge inspiration for me. Being her sister is itself a great deal but apart from her I really like Madhuri Dixit.

5. You are associated with the Chopra family so, how much pressure do you have to sustain in the industry?

Yes, of course when you are associated with a big name of industry, pressure on you is always more, but I feel it’s all about your talent and work. And it is all about your attitude that how you take it forward.

 

6. Do you relate with your character in the movie?

No, I don’t really associate with it because Maya and Manara have a lot of differences. Manara cannot be possessive for any guy as Maya is in the movie. She can never become obsessed in a relationship rather she is a girl with a bindass attitude.

 

7. The movie has some bold scenes. So, can we expect this avatar of yours in your upcoming projects too?

See, this movie needs to have some love making scenes that’s why I have done them. You know, Maya my character is being beautifully portrayed and this means a lot to me. The movie’ genre is psycho thriller and we want to serve our audiences with some out the box theme. I am open to do all type of roles it should just suit me.

 

8. Don’t you think being Priyanka Chopra’s sister makes audiences expect more from you?

Yes, it might happen that people have high hopes from my side and according to me I have done justice to my role. I am a little nervous to know the response of the audience.
