Tata motor asks 600 employees to leave by accepting an Early Retirement Offer (ERO). These are the employees who had been working in the company for over twenty years, including both executives and workers across six plants and regional offices.

The company has worked out a severance package for each employee and those who scored low on the firm’s appraisal system have been asked to leave. Karl Slym, the former managing director of Tata Motors had started this as a measure to reduce costs. He had also introduced other methods such as sourcing for Tata Motors. Karl’s policies are still being followed by Tata Motors.Besides, they would be getting some financial package, medical benefits and some post- retirement support.
