India’s pride Dipa Karmakar turned 23 today and received loads of blessings all across the nation including her friends, family, juniors and coaches. Notably, Karmakar recently made history by becoming the first Indian to reach the finals of the individual vaults at the Rio Olympics.

Since year 2007 Karmkar has won 77 medals including 67 golds, in various competitions
She is the only fifth gymnast in history to successfully land the Produnova

Her father is weightlifting coach and has trained lifters in Andaman Islands
Her training began when she was 5 and till commonwealth games she was training on irregular sized landing mats
She has had only one coach

Currently, she is gearing up to make history in the vaults finals on August 14.
