Malala Yousafzai got married and we are so happy for her!
Taking everyone by surprise, the 24–year–old Nobel Peace Prize-winning Pakistani activist Mala Yousafzai announced her wedding on social media. She tied the knot in a low key ceremony with Asser Khan whom she was dating for a long time. Malala Yousafazi also shared the pictures from her Nikkah which took place at her Birmingham home in the presence of her close family and friends.
Ever since the news of her Nikkah broke out, wishes are pouring in from all across the world. Celebrities like Lilly Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif took to social media to congratulate the couple. Well, this is the first time when Malala introduced us to her partner. In many of her interviews, Malala had said that she doesn’t believe in the institution of marriage but her perspective changed after meeting Asser Khan. So who is Asser Malik?
We all know Malala as she is a well–known activist. On the other hand, her now-husband Asser Khan is the General Manager High Performance for Pakistan Cricket Board. As per reports, Asser Malik joined the organization in May 2020. His social media accounts have a lot of pictures from various cricket events. According to ESPN cricinfo, Asser was Managing Director of a player–management agency and franchise owner in Amateur league last man. Notably, Asser Khan was also associated with theatres as he also noted that he was President of Dramaline, an organization that did theatre productions.
It is reported that both of them have at least known each other since June 2019. Asser Khan had shared a selfie on his Instagram account where he was cheering up for Pakistan at Edgbaston Stadium in UK and Malala was with him.

Malala Yousafazi, now, 24, gained international recognition for her activism against the Taliban’s efforts to stop girls from going to school. Notably, when she was 15, a member of the Taliban shot her in the head. After that, she went to the UK for her treatment. Since then, she is living in the UK. In the year 2014, she won Nobel Peace Prize and became the youngest Nobel Laureate.
