September is the ninth month of the year and surprisingly this month also has 9 letters. The year 2021 underwent many ups and downs that ignited various emotions among people. Some were bitter while some came as good news.

Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics 2020

The Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics became memorable and historic for every Indian. In Tokyo Olympics 2020 India’s medal tally counts to seven including the first gold of the year won by Neeraj Chopra. 

The Paralympic 2020 contingent secured 19 medals including 5 gold, 8 silver, and 6 bronze. Now, India ranks at number 24 at the Paralympics. The ranking is based on the medal count. 

Schools reopen in India

As the corona pandemic hit India, schools remained shut for almost 2 years. 

But now, several states have gone into the offline mode of education including the national capital Delhi. 

On September 1, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rajasthan, Assam, Puducherry, and Haryana welcomed students to school. 

In Delhi, schools are opening in phases and currently running on 50% seating capacity. 

Sidharth Shukla’s demise

Sidharth Shuka’s tragic death left his friends and fans heartbroken. On September 2, Sidharth succumbed to death after a cardiac arrest. Sidharth was a popular name in the TV industry and was part of few films too. 

Many fans also wished strength for Sidharth’s family and to Shehnaz Gill to brave the untimely demise of Sidharth.

Taliban took over Afghanistan 

After a war of 2 decades, Afghanistan knelt down before the Taliban on 15 August 2021. Several video clips flooded the internet where Afghani civilians were trying to flee from the country. They thronged the United States plane in desperation to leave Taliban-ruled Afghan.      

As per the recent reports, the Taliban had claimed to win Panjshir, the last province of Afghanistan that was not under Taliban rule.   

Its spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid organized a press conference, where La Repubblica quoted Mujahid saying, “China is our most important partner, and we are relying on fundings of China.”

Popular TV journalist Rohit Sardana passed Away

TV Journalist and Aaj Tak’s news anchor died after suffering from a heart attack in the month of April. Rohit also tested positive for corona positive. Sardana was survived by his parents, wife, and 2 daughters. 

He anchored popular news debates Taal Thok Ke on Zee news and Dangal on Aaj Tak. 

Patients detected with Black fungus 

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic Mucormycosis commonly known as Black Fungus, was detected among some Covid patients. This is a rare infection that mainly attacks those who are already battling any medical problem. Warning signs include redness and pain around the eyes or nose, headache, fever, coughing, bloody vomit, shortness of breath, and altered mental status.

Israel launched airstrikes at Gaza Strips

The Israeli Air Force hurled air bombs at Gaza Strips after Palestine in May 2021. The bombings were the result of the Israel-Palestine conflict that escalated after rocket attacks from the Gaza strip. 

An Indian woman working in Israel became a victim of attacks and lost her life after Palestine militant group Hamas bombed the Israel border.
