An online candy retailer specializing in wholesale and bulk orders has identified the “most popular” Halloween candies in each US state. This information was gathered by analyzing the past 16 years of sales data from CandyStore.com in the months leading up to the holiday.

The top candies vary from state to state, but when looking at sales per pound between 2007 and 2022, Reese’s Cups, M&Ms, and Hot Tamales emerged as the three “most popular” candies nationwide.

CandyStore has also found that 96% of people who celebrate Halloween plan to purchase candies. According to data from the National Retail Federation, total Halloween candy spending is projected to reach $3.6 billion this year, marking a 16% increase from 2022.
