The Spotlight is a Biographical Drama film directed by Tom McCarthy in 2015, America. The movie shows how the Journalists at the Spotlight disclosed the case of Child Sex Abuse in Boston Area but the members of the Roman Catholic Church since ages. The Post, directed by Steven Spielberg in 2017. It is a historical Political Thriller starring Meryl Streep as Katharine Graham, the first female publisher and Tom Hanks playing the role of the Executive editor of ‘The Washington Post’. The movie displays the story of the attempts of Journalists at The Washington Post to disclose the documents proving the involvement of the US government in the Vietnam War in 1971 (The Pentagon Papers).   The post is among the best ten movies by the year by The Times and the American Film Institute. It won several awards and got nominations in Oscars for best actress and best Movie.

The post is cinematically sound historical thriller set in 1971 establishment. Initially, it will appear a little dark and boring but once you will get the flow, you will be amazed by the thrill.

3.    Web Series: The Newsroom

The Newsroom is a web series with three seasons. If you wanna know, what happens in the newsroom, or behind the TV Screens, The Newsroom is a must watch then. It is an American Political Drama by Aaron Sorkin on HBO. Jeff Daniels is the anchor Will McAvoy and the other cast included Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, and Sam Waterston. The series shows an amazing display of what can we call as Ethics of Journalism. The last season is a spectacular one, where the journalist and the anchor himself went into jail in charges of Espionage and not disclosing the source. Parts of it also included how true journalism is intermixed with the politics in the present context.

4.    Movie: Nothing But The Truth

Nothing but the Truth is a must watch to see how protective a journalist has to be for his/her source. It is an American drama film by Rod Lurie. The reporter, Rachel  Armstrong (Kate Beckinsale) wrote a story disclosing about a CIA agent. She was asked to testify the name of the source, which she didn’t. She faced long court proceedings and was jailed for more than a year but she never disclosed her source. If you will watch the movie, you will have a pleasing surprise in the end.

5.    Movie: No one Killed Jessica

Noone Killed Jessica is a Bollywood biographical screenplay of the ever-controversial, Jessica Lal Murder Case. The film is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It covers the efforts of  Jessica Lal’s sister, Sabrina seeking justice for her sister with the help of journalist Meera Gaity. The cast included Vidya Balan and Rani Mukherjee.
