Salman Khan Threat Case: Actor Salman Khan has received a threat mail from the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, reported his team and taking action has filed a complaint with the Bandra police, Mumbai. The threat mail said, “Goldy bhai ko baat karni Hai tere boss Salman se. Interview dekh hi liya hoga usne shayad, nahi dekha ho toh bol diyo dekh lega. Matter close karna Hai to baat Kara dio, face-to-face karna ho vo bata dio. Abhi time rehte inform kardiya Hai, agli baar jataka hi dekhne ko milega”.

After killing Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, actor Salman Khan is on the hit list of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Police believe that Moosewala’s death was a result of a gang war. But this isn’t the first time that Bishnoi’s name has cropped up in connection to the world of entertainment.

Who is Lawrence Bishnoi?

Lawrence Bishnoi who is currently detained in Tihar declared that killing Salman was his life’s ambition. The Canada-based gangster has over two dozen cases registered against him ranging from murder to extortion. He was arrested in 2017. 

In 2018, a man claiming to be an associate of Bishnoi was arrested in Bengaluru. Sampat Nehra, a sharpshooter from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was reportedly working to kill Salman Khan in retaliation for the black buck hunting case. Nehra had even carried out a recce to take a hit on the Tiger 3 actor. Bishnoi himself had threatened to kill Salman in Jodhpur. 

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in a Punjab jail, is the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

Salman Khan received threats via email

The actor’s personal assistant received threatening mail on Saturday from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi alias Goldy Brar. 

The threat mail was sent on 18 March 2023 and received at the actor’s office in the city. It said that a Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi – wanted to talk to the actor.

FIR filed against Lawrence Bishnoi

His team filed a complaint against gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Goldy Brar and another individual under sections 120-B, 506-II and 34 under the Indian Penal Code. 

Increase in security 

Mumbai police have beefed-up security around Salman Khan’s apartment after analysing the threat level. Salman Khan has been advised to avoid outdoor events. Salman Khan was expected to start the promotions of his film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

Speaking to a media daily in an exclusive interview, gangster Lawrence said that there is anger in his Bishnoi community for Salman Khan. He also said that Salman Khan must apologise to his community. He also added that if he will not tender an apology, then he should be ready to face the consequences.

 He also said that Salman Khan should come to their deity’s temple and apologise. He added that if his community forgives, then he will not say anything. Lawrence Bishnoi said that killing blackbuck in his community is not allowed. 

Singer AP Dhillon on the other hand, has opened up on hate and gangster threats. After Sidhu Moosewala’s murder Punjabi-Canadian rapper AP Dillon sought to highlight the threats and hate that Punjabi artists have to deal with daily. Amritpal Singh Dillon, the Brown Munday fame took to Instagram to condole Moosewala’s death. He posted a picture of Moosewala with a heartbreak emoji in one of his stories. 

In the last few years, Punjab has experienced an alarming rise in high-profile murder cases.
