There are many such celebrity couples who are making headlines due to controversies. Divorce and relationships are one of the reasons for many couples in the industry, while many have something else. Being a celebrity couple is not easy. You are constantly under the glare of the media and everybody is watching all your moves. But things can turn bitter when celebrities choose to wash their dirty linen in public.

Here are some such celebrities who are surrounded by controversies.

1. Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty:

Indian-British businessman Raj Kundra was arrested on July 19 for allegedly making and publicizing obscene videos on certain apps. A Mumbai court has sent him to police custody till July 23, which is now further increased to July 27. However, the police has not found any role of his wife Shilpa Shetty in this regard.

2. Priyamani and Mustafa Raj:

‘The Family Man’ fame Priyamani and her husband Mustafa Raj have been making headlines lately. Mustafa’s first wife Ayesha claims that Raj cheated on her and that his marriage to Priyamani is illegal. The two have reportedly not parted ways officially. She has also lodged a police complaint against him. Raj, however, refuted all the allegations and claimed that she wanted to defame him to extort money.

3. Sambhavna Seth and Avinash Dwivedi:

Actress Sambhavna Seth and her husband Avinash Dwivedi released a video blog earlier this month. In which he is seen making fun of the language of his tribal domestic worker. He called it ‘weird’ and made fun of it. After which he was heavily criticized on social media platforms. He later apologized for his behavior.

4. Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan:

Actor Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao announced their separation after 15 years of marriage. He called it “the beginning of a new journey”. However, their divorce sparked controversy on social media. Some named it ‘Love Jihad’ and some said that Khan’s affair is going on.

5. Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan:

Once considered to be the golden couple of Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan had a very bitter and public break up. It was Salman Khan’s Casanova nature that led to the couple’s split. After the break-up, Aishwarya came out to the media and said that Salman could not accept her walking out on him. He would deliberately injure himself when she did not pick up his calls. Aishwarya also said that during their relationship Salman was extremely possessive and even abused her physically and mentally.

6. Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly:

Many eyebrows were raised when Rahul Mahajan announced that he was going to choose his bride through a swayamvar on television. And, he further surprised everybody by actually tying the knot with struggling model, Dimpy Ganguly. However, within four months, Dimpy walked out of his home claiming that Rahul had physically abused her. However, she returned to his house again when Rahul expressed his regret, and everything seemed fine as the couple made quite a few public appearances as a ‘happy couple’ after that.

But, that too did not last long. The couple, however, filed for a divorce. Things worsened so much that they even filed an appeal to skip the mandatory counseling period of six months that would precede a divorce, to hurry up the proceedings. This was Rahul’s second marriage. His first wife Shweta too had alleged mental and physical abuse, and that became the ground for her seeking a divorce from him.

7. Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain:

Actor-MP Nusrat Jahan and businessman Nikhil Jain got married in Turkey in 2019 as per the Turkish Marriage Regulation. However, Jahan later claimed that the marriage was “invalid” as per the India Special Marriage Act. So the question of divorce does not arise. When she was seen flaunting the baby bump, the fans started questioning whose child it is.
