Judgemental Hai Kya Review: Kangana Ranaut is hilarious in comedy dark thriller

Judgemental Hai Kya is watchable if you like quirky thrillers

Kangna Ranaut and Rajkumar starrer Judgemental Hai Kya is a comedy, dark-thriller which is based on Bobby Garewal (Kangana Ranaut) who gets obsessed with her new tenant Keshav (Rajkumar Rao). Bobby who is diagnosed with acute psychosis gets drawn to the romance between Keshav and his wife. The perfect relationship of Keshav leaves her little psyched. Suddenly a murder breaks down, Bobby thinks that Keshav killed the person and the rest of the story builds on finding the right murderer.

Kangana steals the show with a ferocious performance in Judgemental Hai Kya

Based on the life of an acute mental disorder patient, this thriller is well written, directed and acted by ace actors like Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao. There are many twists and turns in the story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. First half was not that engaging since it was used to develop the characters but the film takes off right from the beginning of the second half.

Performances:

Kangana is awesome as always, those expressions on her face are priceless. Rajkumar Rao is as flawless as ever. Hussain Dalal in the role of Kangana’s friend did a very good job. But seasoned actors like Satish Kaushik and Brijender Kala were wasted. Prakash Kovelamudi as a director in his debut Bollywood film is decent.

Music

Music is the weak point of the movie (it can be avoided as it was not required in this genre). None of the songs is intriguing enough and you won’t notice them during the movies. You might want to look at your phone screen while songs are on the screen.

Verdict

It is an honest movie with the heart at the right place; you should give it try if you like quirky thrillers.

Rating*– 3.5/5
