Lyricist Javed Akhtar asked to appear before court on Kangana Ranaut’s complaint of criminal intimidation and insult against him
After Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan’s fight in 2021, Javed Akhtar allegedly gave the actress some advice. A fight commenced. In the conflict between actor Kangana Ranaut and lyricist Javed Akhtar, Akhtar was asked to appear before the court on Kangana Ranaut’s complaint against him under criminal intimidation and insult. According to an India Today report, the Justice of the Magistrate Court in Mumbai has summoned Javed Akhtar on Kangana’s criticism under Indian Penal Code sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insult to the modesty of a woman).

On Monday, Kangana Ranaut and Javed’s physician Dr Ramesh Agarwal came as one of the witnesses. Dr Agarwal said that a meeting took place between Kangna, her sister and Javed Akhtar. According to him, the meeting lasted for about 20-minutes and before leaving, Javed told her, ‘Aapko maafi mangni padegi (you will have to apologize).” When asked if Javed stated “padegi ya mangiye (you have to apologize or seek forgiveness), he stated later he said, “aap maafi mangiye (you ask for forgiveness)
He also denied that there had been any exchange of harsh phrases. After Kangana’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee asked if the actress had requested Javed to mediate in the quarrel between herself and Hrithik, Dr Agarwal denied. He also agreed that he became a part of the meeting at the request of Javed Akhtar.

He said he didn’t realize that ‘Akhtar would no longer call the Roshans and would ask Kangana to apologize’. When asked if Kangana had stated whatever happened after leaving Javed’s home, he answered, “She informed me that, ‘to start with (she and Hrithik Roshan) both have to apologize, but now I am being asked to apologize’. She informed me of this, and that is why she felt uncomfortable.”
