Katrina Kaif is one of the most loved actresses of B-town. She made her Bollywood debut with Amitabh Bachchan and Gulshan Grover starrer ‘Boom’. Boom, an Indian black comedy thriller film came out in 2003 and was directed by Kaizad Gustad. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, the film also featured Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Padma Lakshmi, Madhu Sapre, Zeenat Aman, and Katrina Kaif. Photos from the set of Katrina’s bollywood-entry film are creating a buzz on social media these days.
In one of the photos going viral on the internet, Katrina can be seen posing with his ‘Boom’ co-star Gulshan Grover.
The film was the story of three models who get caught in a diamond smuggling racket and together they strive to get out of it. Madhu Sapre, Katrina Kaif, and Padma Lakshmi played the role of these three models in the film.
In one of the fashion shows she came to the notice of the director of the movie ‘Boom’. If Kaizad Gustad, director of the movie, hadn’t seen her in a fashion show in 2003, she probably wouldn’t have come to Bollywood. After taking notice of her, Gustad selected her for the movie ‘Boom’.
Katrina Kaif has come a long way since her debut film Boom, which turned out to be a total disaster and the actress went unnoticed. However the movie’s crash at the box-office did not deter her spirit.
She kept her struggle ongoing and is now among the most bankable actresses in the Hindi film industry.
In one of the interviews she revealed how signing the movie was a big mistake of hers as she had just come to India and was not very familiar with the civilization and culture here.
The movie was produced by Ayesha Shroff, Tiger Shroff’s mother. Since the film deflated at the box office, in June 2020, Tiger Shroff opened up about the impact of this failure on his family. The actor said, “I remember how our furniture was sold off, one by one. Things I’d grown up seeing around us started disappearing. Then my bed went. I started to sleep on the floor. It was the worst feeling of my life.”
The Actress’ Upcoming Projects
With Tiger 3, Sooryavanshi, Phone Bhoot and scheduled to hit the screens in the coming months, Katrina is likely to keep ruling the box office. The actress will also be seen in an ambitious Bollywood travel film. With Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, Jee Le Zara is going to be one star-studded film.
